How is the buyback price determined at the end of the term?

The buyback price is locked in upfront at a predictable 5% per year. This means you know exactly what you'll pay when you're ready to purchase—no surprises.

Here's how it works:

  • Starting price: The original purchase price Requity Homes paid for the home
  • Annual increase: 5% per year from the purchase date
  • Market appreciation: If the home appreciates more than 5% annually, you keep the extra equity
  • Maintenance: Any major repairs or maintenance we cover during the term may be added to the buyback price (detailed in your agreement)

Example:

  • Home purchase price: $400,000
  • After Year 1: $420,000 buyback price
  • After Year 2: $441,000 buyback price
  • After Year 3: $463,050 buyback price

You can purchase at any time—the sooner you buy, the lower the price, since fewer annual increases apply. There are no penalties for early purchase.
